Five years ago, one of my best friends, Mia, moved away to Australia. She was the first of us to move away, and we weren’t just about to let her go without something grand to send her off.
Another friend — Laureen — and I decided to spend a few days in Singapore with her, before Mia flew off to her new home.
At the time, I was still reeling from galleon fever, having just come from Bohol and Cebu, so my mindset was still countryside-oriented. Singapore is impressive in a million, very organized, very sanitized reasons, but I’d like to have more to do than go to malls.
So, I suppose this was as far away from the city as it could get, in the few days that we were there — Sentosa Island! There is are cable cars, a zipline, and at the time, not much else. Also, a “Palawan” Beach, which, I’m sorry, does not hold a candle to the real island (no offense to Singapore! You’re doing a good job!)
These were taken at the height of my experimentation with film photography. I purposefully brought with me an expired roll of film; I’m not a professional, and I’m not one to discriminate. Besides, I figured it would add some color to an otherwise relatively bland landscape.
